Christians Believe in Every Word of God | Advice columns

From the writings of Reverend Billy Graham
Why do Christians believe they have the only religion that leads to heaven?
Dear HB: Christians believe in every word of God. Jesus said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
Who doesn’t want to be saved? A few years ago, a man’s plane crashed into the ocean. He survived the crash, but had blood on his forehead which attracted sharks; he spent 10 hours kicking sharks to survive. Finally, he spotted a plane and waved his orange life jacket. The pilot saw it, dropped a canister of smoke and radioed a coast guard who was 12 minutes away, saying, “Hurry up! There’s a man over there surrounded by sharks. The coast guard intervened and rescued him. The man did not need a new swimming technique to be saved; he needed outside intervention.
We all need outside intervention if we are to ever live with God in Heaven forever. This is why God sent his Son on a rescue mission.
He is not limited to claiming that there is only one way of salvation or that the Christian message leads to the right way. Should a pilot be criticized for being narrow-minded when following the dashboard during a landing in a rainstorm? No, we want the pilot to stay tightly focused! Millions of people today want salvation and hope from Heaven, but on their own terms. Christians proclaim salvation only in Jesus Christ; “For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
The Christian hope is that everyone will know Jesus as their Savior. The greatest thing a Christian can do is tell others about Him.
